Comparison of pre-heat treatment of fasteners with normalizing and annealing processes
Normalizing and annealing in the pre-heat treatment of fasteners are the two most common processes, accounting for about 30% of the heat treatment of fasteners. Comparison of process characteristics
a. After the normalizing, the crystal grains are smaller than the annealing, and the obtained pearlite is more, and the mechanical properties are slightly higher than the annealing;
b. The normal fire parts are often used to charge the furnace, the heating temperature is generally slightly higher than the annealing, and the holding time is shorter than the annealing;
c. Normalizing can eliminate the network structure of carbides, and annealing can not;
d. Normalizing treatment of carbon steel with lower carbon content is superior to annealing. Conversely, annealing is superior to normalizing.
